Rose Farms of America approached Webstars in autumn 2007. The initial brief was simply to maintain their existing website, which had been created by a US agency using an off-the-shelf shopping cart solution.

On initial appraisal the existing solution seemed to be versatile and feature-rich. However, in a 'live sales' situation it proved to be very unstable and not really suitable for a high volume of transactions.

We started marketing the site in late January 2008 and the volume of of sales grew very quickly, by mid-February we decided we ought to put the campaign on temporary hold as, although return on investment was very good, we estimated that 3 out of every 4 transactions failed due to the poor shopping cart system.

We started to rebuild the site in late February and it went live 5 weeks later.

Our in-house team designed the site layout (wire frames), managed the client's staff designer, provided supplementary design resources in a similar style, developed the software, created a marketing strategy and trained the client. This project is an example of how our modular services can be upgraded all the way to a complete, all-in package.
